<i>Bacillus atrophaeus</i>

Fig. 133:2. Spores of Bacillus atrophaeus. This species forms spores, which can be distinguished from spores of B. anthracis, B. cereus and B. thuringiensis by the fact that they lack the exosporium as B. subtilis (c.f. Fig. 21:4). B. atrophaeus and B. subtilis are very closely related and have similar spores. The length of the scale bar is equivalent to 2 µm. Date: 2010-06-16.
