Species/Subspecies: Borrelia theileri

Etymology: Genus name: named after the French bacteriologist Amédée Borrel (1867-1936).
Species epithet: named after the Swiss veterinarian Arnold Theiler, who is regarded as the father of veterinary medicine in South Africa.
Significance:Borrelia theileri is more important in tropical countries than in Sweden.

Macromorphology (smell):
Micromorphology: Borrelia spp. have a planar flat-wave morphology.
